Cooper Guinea

Cooper Guinea is a prominent name in the Commercial and Music Theatre industry, known for his dynamic and intricate pieces. Originally from Victoria, Cooper works and trains with dancers across Australia including highly acclaimed choreographers such as Cassie Bartho, Paris Cav & Kelly Aykers. 


After completing his dance training at Kelly Aykers Full Time Dance, Cooper launched his career as a dancer and performer. Including both professional and pre-profesional performances. Cooper has appeared as an Assistant at the Victorian Dance Festival (VDF) alongside Kelly Aykers. As well, as a dancer for the Melbourne Dance Company, Company A. In 2016, Cooper was cast in the 2015-16 Australian Season of ‘Matilda’ at the Princess Theatre, Melbourne. He was also cast in the Australian Premiere of ‘The Battle of Boat’ at Chapel of Chapel, Melbourne. 



In 2022, Cooper was a dancer extra in the Robbie Williams Bio-Picture film, ‘Better Man’ released in late 2024. 


Transitioning into choreography, Cooper quickly established himself as a highly-acclaimed choreographer, teacher and creative director. Known for his ability to deliver high-intense performances that cater to range of styles. Cooper’s most recent projects include choreographing for Full time Dance courses as well as Amateur Theatre Companies. Over the past few years, Cooper has choreographed projects such as, Newsies, High School Musical, and 9 to 5. Most recently, directing the new and modern version of Peter Pan. 


Cooper is an award winning dancer and choreographer. Cooper won the 2021 Victorian GUILD Award for ‘Best Dancer’. He then went on to win a GUILD commendation in 2022 for ‘Best Choreography’ for his first ever project as Choreographer within ‘Newsies’, for BLOC Music Theatre. Here, he also was awarded the 2022 GUILD Award of Excellence for “Best Choreography and Set Choreography”. Most recently Cooper was nominated for a Victorian GUILD award, again for “Best Choreography” for his work on Dolly Parton’s smash hit musical, “9 to 5”. 


Cooper has had the privilege to learn, train and dance under global creatives such as Brent Street, STELLA Youth Dance Company, Briar Nolet & Myles Erlick (The Next Step), Donnie Dimase, and Michael Ralph. 


Cooper has a huge passion of teaching and can’t wait to guide the next generation of young dancers in years to come!
